Back to Tunis we go!

Saturday morning we woke up early to get to the ferry on time. We got there and checked in easy peasy!

The best part by far was seeing ALL the things people were bringing home! I mean, it was quite a sight!

 Furniture, anyone?!

After fighting a CRAZY customs line (lots of pushing, shoving- oh man it got ugly!), we got in line to board the ferry. While we were in line for a while, things were much smoother here than in Tunisia. And we only left an hour late! Yahoo!

Goodbye Palermo!

Love these two!

And away we go!

Too cute!

Views around the ferry

Beautiful view of Palermo as we left

I would love to have more pictures of views along the way or from the boat but that just didn't happen. The boat was much more rocky this time and I was quite sea sick! So unless I was laying down or standing outside (and it was cold!), I was sick as a dog!

After 12 hours, we finally made it to Tunisia! The exiting was much more smoother than entering the boat a week ago! While I was sad to leave Sicily, I was happy to be home and for my parents to still be with me another week! :)

Day 5: Lipari, Cefalu and Palermo

Our final full day in Sicily was all about getting ourselves back to Palermo to be ready to get on the boat tomorrow morning. But it was a wonderful last full day with lots of fun things along the way! :)

Our final views of Lipari before leaving mid-day

On our way to Palermo, we made a snap decision to stop and see Cefalu. It was a place mom wanted to check out but I had heard it was touristy. But we decided to stop and did not regret it one bit. It was amazing! Touristy, yes but for a reason! What a gorgeous location!

Hilariously, they were selling Tunisian pottery on the sidewalk!

Beautiful day

Loved the narrow streets

Final arancini and pizza

And we finished our meal off with amazing cannolis! Oh so scrumptious!

The beautiful cathedral

Now with mom and dad

The inside was beautiful!

Oh how I love European buildings

and blue doors!

Before heading to Palermo, we made a stop at the grocery store! Something I always do when traveling to Europe so I can bring things back that we cannot find here. These things just made me laugh!

For our final meal, we had Chinese... YES, Chinese! We have no good Chinese restaurants here (well, none at all, actually) so I try to get my fix wherever I can!

This was my sweet Marzipan sweet! That actually was my final meal! :)

Day 4: Lipari

After missing Lipari our first day here, we could not resist going at the end of our trip! Lipari is an island off of Sicily. There are a string of island there known for their volcanoes.

Milazzo (where we got on the ship to take us to Lipari) was about 2 hours from Catania and along the way we saw some beautiful views.
Mt. Etna

Looking down onto a town

We made it to Milazzo just in time to park our car and catch the hydrofoil to Lipari

What a breathtaking island! This is the view from our Airbnb and it was just breathtaking!

After getting settled in, we took a drive around the island (it is 41km around). There was such varied landscape around the island and it was just breathtaking!

For dinner we found this perfect spot... a wine bar with the best salads, antipasto and paninis! One of my favorite meals!

And oh the best wine! These are the grapes the wine comes from.

Beautiful and quaint shop

He stopped and talked with us for a while- he was too sweet and shared different magazines all over the world his restaurant has been in.

As we left, we saw the gorgeous full moon
