We are in MAINE!!!

We have finally made it in Maine and are so happy to be here!

Last night for our first meal, we had lobster! Oh so yummy!

Today I took very little pictures because we were out and about enjoying our gorgeous day and being active (we were trying to lose all of the food we have been eating the past 5 days).  Dad took some on his camera and I hope to get them from him soon.  

Brooke and I went swimming in the lake quite far.  We made it to the island and back!  While mom and dad were panicked, we were quite proud of ourselves!

We also went kayaking quite far!  Uncle Charlie left his two-seater kayak so we were excited to be in a boat together!  We made quite a team!

Then we came back and made margaritas!  They were so yummy!  We took our margaritas to our floats and spent some time floating in the lake but it sure got super cold super fast!

After that, we were frozen so we showered and rested.  Then Aunt Jeanne and Patti came to stay for a couple of days.  We had dinner and Brooke and I took a walk after dinner!  It was a great first day in Maine!

First time to Rhode Island

On the way to Maine, we stayed the night over in Rhode Island because mom, Brooke, and I have never been to the smallest state in the US.  It was a gorgeous state with beautiful homes and preppy style. 

Our first stop was at a Diners, Drive-in, and Dives restaurant called Crazy Burger.  It had fun juice and unique burgers.

Then we headed to Newport, where we were spending the night and looking forward to sightseeing!

We also did the cliff walk which has the oceans on one side and mansions on the other

Then we headed back to the cute town of Newport which was on the water.  It also had a lot of cutesy shopping places.

On Tuesday, we left Newport and headed to see other parts of Rhode Island.  A friend of my mom told us this teaching store was in RI and I got excited because we order a lot of our school items for my school in Tunisia from Lakeshore.  It did not disappoint and the people were very, very helpful!

Then we went to mom's choice... a thrift store!  It did not disappoint!

Then we left RI and headed for Maine!  Oh how excited we all were!

Our Summer Vacation: Pennsylvania and Connecticut!

On Friday, we packed up and headed out! Our final destination is Maine but we stopped along the way to visit family!  

To break up our trip, we stopped in York, Pennsylvania to see mom's cousin Bonnie and her husband John.  It has been ages since I have seen them and spent time with them!  What a fun time we had!

John showed us these wooden chairs his three sons and him made!  They were beautiful crafted and quite comfortable!

At midnight on Friday night, John made me the BEST grilled cheese sandwich!  Bonnie made one for me when I was little and it was so good to have another one! Oh my gracious are they amazing!!

Monica (our good friend from Kenya) was in the states visiting and took a bus to CT to spend the weekend with us!

We went to Grandma's for dinner Saturday night and had a great time together!

On Sunday, we went to Charlie and Barbara's for lunch and swimming afterwards!

As we left Uncle Charlie's, we stopped by to visit Grandpa.  His headstone is not in yet but we took a picture next to Great Grandpa and Grandma's headstone.  It was comforting to see where Grandpa is.

Afterwards, we went out for FroYo!  YUM!

The next morning, we said our goodbyes and headed to Rhode Island!

Then we took Monica to the bus stop and said our goodbyes before she headed to NYC and we headed to Rhode Island!
