My weekend!

Here is my weekend in pictures!  The weather was gorgeous and school work was minimal so that makes for a great weekend! :)

I got out of work early (for me) so Zoe and I headed to the Lac for a longer walk. :)

The sunset Friday night (this is the view from my friend's 7th floor apartment)

Saturday I went to a hospital in downtown Tunis with two friends from work.  We bathed, changed, and fed the babies.  We loved up on the babies!

Afterwards, I ran home to pick up Zoe and we headed to Zelda's for a playdate.  Zoe is so comfortable there!

On the way home, we stopped at the Lac and walked the entire boardwalk.  What a gorgeous, windy day!

That night I babysat for Romen and Roshan!

This morning, Joni and I headed to the market.  The citrus is in prime season right now so it is very abundant!

So are raspberries and strawberries!

Not sure what these are but thought they were too cool!

Baby tomatoes!

My new favorite vegetable... fresh artichokes!!

The flowers are always gorgeous!

These are mushrooms!

3 girls were oohing over the guinea pigs at the market!  I love the red-head!

I bought a juicer today and made fresh squeezed orange juice!

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today my mom is 58!  For some reason, she feels that is a whole lot older than 57 but this morning she told me she looked the same that she did at 58! ;) Hehe!  Happy, happy birthday to my best friend!  She is always giving to others, helping others in every way possible, praying for others, and loving everyone (esp. her family and friends)!  She is also the funniest and most blunt person I know!  Her honesty always makes me smile!  On Friday, her friends threw her a surprise birthday party and today dad is taking her to the art museum for the porshe exhibit!  Mom, I love you to the moon and back!!

Grade Changing!

I taught first grade for 7 amazing years and firmly believed I would always be in first grade!  Throughout the years, I have talked to veteran teachers who have taught a variety of grades and I always thought, "That will never be me.  I am here to stay in first grade!"  And then I decided to teach in Africa and took a job that was not in first grade (but only one grade up).  While I am enjoying second grade and am learning a lot, my heart is still in 1st grade.  But there are two openings in Pre-K and my heart was telling me to give it a try.  I mentioned to my principal before break that I MIGHT be interested in Pre-K but not sure.  She called me into her office yesterday day and told me she needed me in Pre-K.  So here goes something... I am teaching Pre-K next school year!  Changes continue to come to me... I think they will until I learn to like them!

Zoe's first visit to the Lac

I got home from work before the sun went down so I put my big girl panties on and walked Zoe to the Lac (no worries... we didn't see any dogs).  This was her first time and she seemed to love it out there.  We didn't stay long because the sun was setting and the dogs come out at dusk (my bravery only got me so far).  I hope to go more on the weekends!  What a gorgeous (but windy and chilly) day for a walk to the Lac!

Worse Blogger Ever!

Yes, I know.  I have been a horrible blogger!  I am sorry Grandma, Aunt Jeanne, the Chapman sisters, and other readers!  While I am adding pictures up just to hold you over until this weekend, they are not of Tunisia's landscape or anything outside for that matter.  It is mostly of people and the world's sweetest dog!  Work has been super overwhelming since I got back and pair that with super homesickness... it's a fun combo! So here is my last week in pictures!

I took a picture with both of my parents before Zoe and I flew out.  Mom was excited that I didn't have make-up on so we look the same... pale, red-heads! ;)

Excuse our expressions... mom was being super picky and dad and I were over the pictures at this point! (Oh, and I chopped my hair off!)

This is Zoe and I in the Frankfurt airport sitting at our gate waiting to board the plane to Tunis... not in the bathroom like some once thought.

Flying wore Zoe out!

Less than a week later and she is making this place her home!

This right here is the reason I did very little this weekend... report cards!!!  But... they are done! :)

Sleepy Zoe!  She had a play date on Sunday with Zelda and they actually might be friends!

Monday babysitting: Liam was quite tired this afternoon so he watched Umi Zoomie!  Too sweet!

I look this a couple of months ago but keep forgetting to share it.  Believe it or not, I love this view!  It is the view outside of my classroom door!  I love seeing the playground, the ever changing billboard, and  the skyline!
