Dressing Making!

A couple of weeks ago, Katie asked me if I wanted to get a dress made with her! We knew of this great seamstress so we thought it would be fun to have a dress made that will always remind us of Tunisia! So Katie and I are having formal ball gowns made! We are having them made just for fun we are also going to wear them to the Marine ball in November! It is a step by step process so below are the pictures of the steps we have done thus far!

Katie and I with our sweet seamstress... and pictures of our dresses we are having made

Then on a Saturday, we headed downtown to pick out fabric. There is a whole area downtown that is just fabric stores! It was neat to walk through them all! We also had some sweet people helping us!
This is the store where we bought most of our fabric.

Katie's fabric for her beautiful dress!

Checking it out in the mirror with Karen's help

My fabric- it as a beautiful translucent thing going on!

Karen found her gorgeous fabric!

The sweet man who was so patient and helpful with us!

Next up... to find the lining!

Loved this sweet man!

Then on Tuesday, we had all of our measurements made and gave her our fabric! She loved the colors we picked out!

Next Tuesday (after we get back from break), we go to try on the part she has made thus far! Stay tuned!
