Day in Djerba

For our last day down South, Catherine and I spent the say exploring Djerba- an island in the south of Tunisia. It is quite a famous island known for their beautiful beaches and there are also many Jews who live there too.

The sweet lady who runs the hotel we stayed at got a taxi driver to escort us around the island which was much appreciated!

We started our tour at the Jewish Synagogue.

It was absolutely mesmerizing inside! It was very Tunisian with the blue and white and gorgeous tiles.

I also loved the ceilings.

It was very neat and facisinating to see a Jewish synagogue here in Tunisia. The highlight of my trip!

Our next stop was Djerbahood. This is a neighborhood where in 2014 many artists from around the world came to paint beautiful murals on the walls, doors and even roofs of homes and buildings. It was very cool to see! Such beauty and talent!

There were also most the beautiful doors in this neighborhood that I could not resist taking pictures of. So gorgeous!

Our final stop on our tour was to the beach! And oh my gracious, it did not disappoint! It was breathtaking! Such clear water and we loved the rocks and moss too!
